Please Support Senate Bill 2221

Update: Shockingly Senate Bill 2221 died in House Committee under Donnie Scoggin

Safe Dormitories Association requests to please support this amendment for 2025 Regular Session - Senate Bill HB 2221;

"(g) Whether students under the age of 21 who are required to live on campus at each institution would be safer in a single-sex dormitory or other student housing that does not allow guests and visitors of the opposite sex to enter the dorm room or housing, restricting such guests and visitors to common areas only."

AN ACT TO REQUIRE PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING TO MAKE A REPORT TO EITHER THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE MISSISSIPPI STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING OR THE MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD ABOUT COEDUCATIONAL DORMITORIES ON THEIR CAMPUSES; TO REQUIRE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE MISSISSIPPI STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING AND THE MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD TO MAKE A CONSOLIDATED REPORT TO THE LEGISLATURE ABOUT COEDUCATIONAL DORMITORIES ON ALL CAMPUSES UNDER THEIR PURVIEW; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
