Nancy Katherine Barrett is a lifelong resident of Holmes County, Mississippi. She was born and raised in Tchula, Mississippi, graduated from Tchula High School and then graduated from Ole Miss.
She moved with her husband Don to his hometown of Lexington, where they have lived since 1970. She and Don have three grown children and ten grandchildren. In addition to the pleasures of her home, family, and community, she has taught Sunday School in the Methodist Church for over 30 years.
Nancy has served on the Board of Directors of the Hermitage, President Andrew Jackson's home in Nashville, and on the Board of Directors for Central Holmes Christian School.
She is also the owner of Southern Coffee Services, a Mississippi coffee company.
Nancy went to Ole Miss during the safe days of an upright college dormitory policy, so she understands the difference in that time of wholesome dormitory life and the dangerous policy of dormitory life the students are forced to live under now.
